Intentions

God is wholly other. He calls the shots and has intentions for us.

God has a mind and purpose of his own.

A God who does not have intentions is no God. Knowing God

God’s intentions arise from his goodness and lovingkindness.

Without goodness God becomes a sort of celestial comfort blanket.

Without lovingkindness we create a god who endorses our disregard of others.

God’s intentions may be found in the life and teaching of Jesus . . . and in the lives of those who trust in God in their way of life.

God is interested in the whole of our lives and wants to see us (all of us) happy, prosperous, productive, useful, fulfilled in the ordinary activities of life: work, play, health, earning, enjoyment and entertainment, achieving and prospering, suffering and dying...amongst those wrapped up with us in the same bundle of life Whole of life

He likes to walk with us and talk to us and to hear what we have to say throughout our daily lives, but is not peculiarly interested in our beliefs, rituals and religion.

What God has in mind for us and our world is radically different from contemporary values, standards and culture. Present Age

‘This new life is the world of God breaking through from its self-contained holiness and appearing in secular life.’

Karl Barth
